Wall Hanging
I was commissioned by the Building Exploratory in Hackney to devise a replicable workshop using creative techniques appropriate to engage older people who face difficulties in later life with architecture and the built environment. I was allocated to Poplar day care centre in Tower Hamlets, which cares for frail and physically disabled older people and those with Alzheimer’s and dementia. I made a textile wall hanging with the group of 10 users, using simple printing, image transfer and sewing techniques.
